Excellence in classrooms study

Posted by on July 13, 2015

In continuing to raise expectations and standards across the curriculum, we have started to trial some ideas we picked up from our visits to other schools, and have so far found this to be really successful. We believe that this needs to be embedded into children’s learning right from Year One if we are to achieve the standards we expect by Key Stage Two; these standards and expectations need to be explicitly modelled. Resources should be made available to children along with ideas for presentation. We are also keen to implement and develop the use of peer critique after seeing this work so successfully in another school (“Austin’s Butterfly”). We aim to create an iTunesU course in order to develop this and support staff, with guidelines and resources.
Have a look at Kyle’s Castle to see how peer critique can be used to raise standards.
